Whether Cuban or Mexican food, this local favorite does serve pretty good food and the service is nice. The server's are nice. Almost everything I've tried so far has been pretty good. Their mango margaritas are delicious. My only complaint....don't sit next to the server's station or you will be bombarded by constant "shop talk" by the servers who have no problem standing around doing nothing but talking. Trust me, you will overhear all their conversations. The servers seem to congregate around the server's station when there is nothing to do, quickly killing your dining experience. TIP: If you avoid these 3 booth tables by the server's station you will be fine.

If your a fan of Mexican food and salsa you hit the jackpot! There salsa is fresh homemade and available in different heat levels. The food is amazing as well! I had the beef quesadilla which was to die for! If your a Moe's, Chipotle, Tijijuana Taxi or even Taco Bell fan this place will blow them right out of the water because of how fresh and tasty the food is. When it comes out its perfect temp to dive right in and eat! Also have tried the chicken fajitas which comes out on a hot skillet with a amazing sauce thats on the bottom where you have to take the bread and dip it in it and eat some with the chicken you will be amazed! The service is great for a small place. The atmosphere is like a Mexican aztec theme. The price is reasonable, the only reason why they get 4 stars is because its a little cramped inside unless you get a booth then you kinda have so spread out room.

Good Food Bad Juan. Food is good. If you get sat in Juan's section, MOVE TO ANOTHER SECTION. Tell them you "Juana" be sat somewhere else. He was not attentive at all. Basic service 101 is serve/bring the child's meal first, not after the adults received their food. Juan does not understand this basic concept. We waited over 10 minutes just for our drink order to be taken. Asked for more chips and salsa as there were 4 adults 2 kids and one basket...it never came; ordered sour cream to accompany tacos...it never came. Ordered chicken fajitas got steak. When the bill arrived and I informed him that we ordered chicken, he doesn't even know the menu because he told us that it was the same price. We may go back, but if we do, it will be no -Juan-der why we don't sit in Juan's section.

I think that the place is a bit small for the traffic. Sometimes I have waited for a while to be seated. The food is average for the price though. The staff is great.

It's an ok alternative to the other local Mexican restaurant (whom out of respect I won't name) if you don't want to drive a little further and wait for a table. The atmosphere is a little hum-drum and the food is OK. This is the first place I've ever thought to say that the take out is better than eating in. I cannot put my finger on the specifics, but it's just "OK" overall. I'll go back because I live close, but I will not be surprised if at some point the food isn't up to par. The service was just "OK" too. I don't know. If you read my other reviews, you'll see that I can normally pinpoint something specific, but in the case of El Mariachi, I just can't. Maybe it was the pop music playing in the background instead of traditional Mexican, I don't know, MARIACHI?? I'll follow up here after the next visit...

Good food, good service, good prices.evening good. What I don't like it's that it's a small restaurant where they have overhead ceiling fans with lights going. I don't.like that-gives me a headachr.

Best restaurant in town, food is great (mexican or cuban), margaritas are fantastic, service is always helpful and attentive, location is small but cozy, and don't leave without trying the tres leches cake or the fried ice cream for dessert, hope they keep everything this way.

Good but expensive. Split Shrimp fajitas with my wife...nothing else...walked out at $24!!!! The shrimp fajitas are $20. Way too expensive. The food was good, but at this prices not worth it. We tried the house margaritas and house sangria..both were pretty bad and we sent them back (and stuck w/water).

Save a trip, the food is mediocre at best. The service is good, but it should be when your restaurant is half empty. Recent menu change, and exorbitant price increases should make you go elsewhere. 22$ for La Carne Tampiquena? Get real. Used to be Mexican only, now they added a Cuban menu as well. Do one thing and do it well, I say. Also remodeled interior, it's nice, but clean the ceiling vents and replace the water stained ceiling tiles while you are at it! Oh, and don't make it so obvious you want your clientele to pay for it, by jacking up the prices. It's Mexican food!

Hola yummy food. When I am looking for some yummy comfort Mexican food, this place does it well. The guac is solid. The all you can eat chips and salsa will fil you up if you are not careful. I start with chicken soup..from there you get to a very very important fork in the road. Do you take the Cuban or mexican road??!! You need to choose carefully...but it won't be easy. The pulled Cuban pork and pico de gallo are great. The tacos and burritto are a tough choice...what do you choose? You know what, just choose them all. They will not call u loco...unless of course you you choose to pass on the tres leches.

The first time I went to this restaurant it was the one on University by the mall. Unfortunately it's no longer there, but there is one on Wiles. I have to say this place has the best everything. They have an awesome tortilla soup, all of the entrees are delicious and filling, and they're loaded nachos are reason enough to go back. It is a little pricey but well worth it. Great for dinner dates! :0)

Nice ambiance, poor food. We went for a weekday lunch, it was quiet with friendly service. The pork carnitas were so dry & overcooked while the fish tacos were super fried, tasted like chicken strips. Bean soup was lukewarm and straight from the can. Where's the hot sauce? Disappointment. The 4 star review we read mislead us.

We've been coming here for years and it's great! They serve my favorite black beans and rice. I've had so many items on the menu. Our staples are masas de puerco and the chimichanga. Palomilla steak Amis also well seasoned. And really good fajitas. Their black beans and rice saved me during pregnancy! I was so sick, they were the only thing that didn't make me feel worse.

El Mariachi is our favorite latin restaurant in Coral Springs! Everything is good, service is great, and happy hour is very happy! My kids love it here, too. When they think of the word "Fiesta!", they think of El Mariachi's! Ok, that's enough exclamation marks...now go eat or drink margaritas!

Ok, first off I love Mexican food and some yummy Cuban food can make my day too. Both under one roof really my brain doesn't get it! So what to do when asked to go, well I go. First star Michelada to drink why thank you! A bowl of chicken tortilla soup with cheese and avocado was yummy too! The pulled Cuban pork was great it had very good flavor and texture, the rice was cooked well and the black beans were seasoned well too. However bouncing back to my Mexican the green salsa is AWESOME I've had similar and really enjoyed it.

Like usual I went with a basic marinated chicken breast lunch with rice beans and plantains. It was part of the cuban menu. It was was pretty good. Beans had great flavor and the chicken was very well marinated. Didn't interactive with the server other than drink and food order but I wasn't here long anyway. The place looks clean and the music isn't loud. I enjoyed my short experience here. Will come again when I'm in Coral Springs.

Honestly in used to be obsessed with El Mariachi, for over a decade. I used to go ever since they upended their first spot next tk the Coral Square mall. However the last times I've gone I've left extremely disappointed in their service and food. Their prices are too high especially for what you are getting. It's been months since I've gone. I refuse to go to a place where they act as if they are feeding you for free. The locations I experienced that was on Wiles and university and the one on Royal Palm. I remember the waiter forgot my appetizer and when brought the entree I asked him about my empanadas. He told me I should've reminded him. Then he forgot the utensils. Like really I'm suppose to remind you. You should remember. Than another time I asked my my meat med rare they gave it to me well done. Then they went and made me one completely raw. I remember walking in and the hostess not even acknowledging my family and I. I even called the owner. He didn't even have the decency to call me back. He just lost a loyal customer. Now I go to La Bamba.

Came back to my old stomping grounds of South Florida over the holiday for a week of extended family members nagging, telling me which life decisions were poor and asking if I'm having more little babies for them (2 is all I can handle out of fear that I'll end up comatose and drooling in the psych ward, TYVM). My husband and I needed an evening out so we did the usual El Mariachi date night that is a regular thing when we're in town. The food is as good as I've always remembered it. They haven't altered their recipes which is a good thing. I seriously can't find a better burrito ANYWHERE and I've eaten at many Mexican restaurants. The salsa is amazing. The fried plantains are delicious. The only thing here that sucked this visit was the service. Our server would disappear and forget things. Plus, I think there was a language barrier since he did not speak English very well. It didn't matter to me. The food is delicious and the place holds a lot of nostalgia for me - it was the restaurant of choice on half days in high school and for awkward first dates. It will always be 5 stars for me!

Good Mexican food and some Cuban dishes on the menu as well. The Pallomilla steak is a favorite, as well as the enchiladas and the nachos. They have the best queso dip I've ever had in my life. The salsa is always freshly made and the service is very fast. We eat here at least once a month.

We got the breaded steak and ropa veija. It came out quickly and the supplied us with chips and dip right away. The rice and beans were pretty plain, could use some seasoning. Otherwise the food was tasty. We had a nice meal. There are other options closer to home so I doubt we will make the trip again.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
